Notable Achievements (Historical Web Related Work)
2005 Nikonnews.ca (no longer active) - Self Employed
Designed and implemented a microsite to deliver news and offerings, as well as a monthly competition. Site was built on IIS, MS-SQL, and hosted internally at the Mississauga office.2005 Nikon.ca (e-commerce dress-up) - Self Employed
Styled the custom e-commerce solution which was built by another contractor. This site never went live due to Nikon's policies with their distributors.2005 Nikon.ca (emergency relocation) - Self Employed
Successfully reproduced all content and functionality of www.Nikon.ca from an outside host to an internal host. This was a more difficult task than it seemed due to not having any file or console access to the external host other than regular HTTP. Also helped Nikon management screen potential web developers for the complete rewrite of their main web presence in Canada which was due to start mid-2006.2006-2009 Supported a downtown Toronto Hotel/Condo - while employed by eSubnet

- programmed an interface system to collect data from the phone switch into an MS-SQL based database that I also designed
- designed front-end web application which allowed the data to be presented in several configurations. This allowed staff to identify trends, problem areas etc in their service levels
2008 Website Redesign with CMS for current employer - eSubnet Enterprises Inc
- built www.esubnet.com, the company web presence a year earlier, further tasked with a complete rewrite which includes specs for a full CMS back-end

- a company was looking to move several pieces of infrastructure to a single server and host
- email, website (english/french), mailing lists, bulletin board were brought over to a new Linux VM at a popular provider
- several obstacles had to be overcome through expert manipulation of underlying technologies, as access was very limited to existing services
- the new web host was secured then prepared to host all of the new services, and data transferred
- mailing lists and bulletin board migration required manual manipulation of existing raw data to get it compliant with new more secure versions of the software
- provided expert advice and technology assistance to the web developer responsible for the new web site

Current Personal Projects
- MacTracker - A means of tracking your Mac when/if it gets stolen. Sends screenshots, webcam captures, network traces, and keychain information back to a home server. Back end almost complete, look for it branching off my main site in the upcoming months.
- ReCAPTCHA - A reboot of current CAPTCHA trends. Existing challenge-response methods are wrong and I firmly believe that the future is to determine what a human WILL do as opposed to what a human CAN do. Some proof of concept completed.
Have I mentioned that this site looks beautiful in the latest version of all browsers (except Internet Explorer!)
Not only that, but running anything less than the latest browser opens up your machine to all kinds of un-patched exploits.
Corporate viewers stuck with IE6/7 for platform compatibility? Speak with your IT director, let them know that while IE6/7 is required for some items, that any other surfing without a modern browser is a risk to your business. Use IE for business applications and Firefox for anything else!
